Vanessa Herrera is a dedicated youth development and community professional with over a decade of experience supporting children and families through recreation, education, and family assistance programs. She is known for her leadership, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining safe, structured, and supportive environments.
Vanessa began her career in Recreation Centers (2013–2016), organizing youth programs and supervising community activities. During this time, she also worked with Safekey (2013–2014), ensuring student safety in structured after-school settings and facilitating enrichment activities.
From 2013 to 2016, Vanessa served with the Clark County School District as a Senior Food Service Worker, where she oversaw daily kitchen operations, supported staff coordination, maintained food safety compliance, managed inventory, and ensured efficient meal service for students. Her role required strong organization, leadership, and adherence to district and health regulations.
In 2017–2018, Vanessa worked with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America as a Receptionist in the family assistance office, supporting families in need by assisting with intake processes, maintaining confidential documentation, and connecting community members with essential resources.
Since 2018, Vanessa has continued her work at Kids Are Us, where she provides high-quality child care, builds strong relationships with families, and creates engaging, nurturing environments for children.
Vanessa brings a strong foundation in leadership, youth supervision, family support services, and operational management. Her dedication to serving children and families remains central to her professional journey.
